We helped this customer with crawl space repair.
This customer had a very damp and humid crawlspace that was causing mold to grow and the current insulation to fall down. To start off this project we first removed all the old damp insulation and then treated the mold with our Mold-X2 treatment. Next, we installed our SilverGlo insulation wall panels and sprayed our spray foam insulation. Following our insulation install, we put down our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, install a SmartPump with Smart Pipe and then we finish up the install with a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
Over time, a homeowner in Elkton, MD, began to notice their crawl space becoming increasingly damp and deteriorated. Persistent water seepage and a lack of proper drainage support had taken a toll on the area, raising concerns about potential mold growth and structural damage. Recognizing the severity of the issue, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st for a professional assessment and long-term solution to protect their home.
After a thorough inspection, our team designed a customized waterproofing strategy tailored to the specific needs of the crawl space. We installed our patented SilverGlo Insulation Panels to provide both thermal protection and resistance to moisture intrusion. To further safeguard the space, we added our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, a mold-resistant liner that effectively seals out humidity and ground moisture.
These systems worked together to eliminate the damp conditions, transforming the crawl space into a dry, healthy, and structurally sound area for the homeowner’s peace of mind!
In the dirt-floor crawlspace, we were able to encapsulate it by installing our CleanSpace system. We wrapped the CleanSpace around each of the bottom piers and surrounding walls along the perimeter, which is placed over our drainage matting that lies under the liner. By covering the dirt floor, we are able to prevent any moisture that can slip into the home, mold growth, and pests.
In this dirt-floor crawl space, a plastic covering was placed over the dirt and the homeowners were experiencing high humidity in the upstairs living space. The Basement System team cleaned out the entire crawl space and installed our CleanSpace Vapor barrier on the contracted walls along with the bottom of piers. We also installed our high-efficiency SilverGlo insulated wall panels around the perimeter that have a radiant heat barrier and hold back any moisture or humidity.
