This Rising Sun, MD, homeowner had become increasingly concerned with ongoing water seepage in their crawl space, which was leading to moisture buildup, mold growth, and musty odors that were affecting the overall air quality in their home. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to address the issue, they contacted Quality 1st for a long-term solution.
Our team recommended a comprehensive waterproofing system, including our patented Drainage Matting to redirect water away from the crawl space, and our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System to seal the area and prevent moisture infiltration. To further manage water, we installed the SmartPipe Drainage System and the SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump, which efficiently pumped water out of the space, while the IceGuard Discharge Line System ensured proper water flow, even in freezing temperatures.
Once installed, the crawl space was transformed into a dry, healthy, and inviting environment, free from the moisture-related problems that had plagued the homeowner, giving them peace of mind and restoring their home’s integrity!
For this job, we came out to the customer's home and replaced the current cinder blocks they used as a support system with our SmartJack System. Smart Jacks are adjustable supports that provide support to sagging floors and also lift and restore them to their original position.
In this crawl space, the uneven dirt was in need of excavation to encapsulate the entire space. We excavated the dirt out of the crawl space and leveled the ground to install our CleanSpace Encapsulation System. Once the system was installed, we also wrapped each pier with our Vapor Barrier and placed SilverGlo insulated wall panels around the foundation, which then completely encapsulated the dirt crawl space.
This was a very tough, low crawl space with lots of dampness. We had to clean it out first and remove all the organic material. Then we installed a drainage system with a SmartSump to deal with the water issues. The floor and walls were covered with our Cleanspace Encapsulation System to keep the moisture from the ground from evaporating into the air. The result is a transformed, dry, and safe crawl space.
At this Lutherville property, the previous homeowners had their crawl space encapsulated, but now have realized that the last couple of rainstorms caused the vapor barrier to fail. They reached out to our company to come in and re-encapsulate the space. We installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that sits on top of a drainage matting that sits flush between foundation and barrier. We also installed our SilverGlo around the foundation walls of the crawl space, which are our graphite-impregnated insulated wall panel that have the ability to hold back moisture and humidity. Lastly, we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier that will continuously keep moisture down and eliminate the mugginess in the air, giving you overall cleaner air.
