Tired of a cold, damp crawl space that wasted energy and threatened their home’s comfort, this homeowner from Middle River, MD took action with a complete waterproofing and insulation solution. They installed a vent cover to keep moisture out, added SilverGlo insulation to boost energy efficiency, and finished with CleanSpace to create a sealed, dry barrier. In this dirt floor crawl space in Middle River, MD, mold was present on the beams along with the start of wood rot, which had caused the need to replace the subfloor. A plastic tarp was placed on the dirt floor to be used as a vapor barrier, which we replaced with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that will reduce the moisture and humidity coming in. The team also wrapped the bottom of each pier with the CleanSpace barrier to fully encapsulate the crawlspace, turning it from a dark, dirty space into a clean and dry area.

We also installed our SilverGlo insulated wall panels, that is an inorganic material that we placed on the foundation walls of the crawl space, acting as a heat barrier that won't support mold or mildew. Once we removed and hauled away insulation, we installed our CleanSpace Vapor barrier along the floor and walls that will reduce humidity in the crawl space and seal out cold drafts during those winter months. 

We received a call from this customer with concerns of water entering into the crawlspace through the crawlspace door, during rain storms as well as the floors above the crawlspace were known to get cold during the winter months. After sending our inspector to evaluate the crawlspace, there was more to just water intrusion and cold floors. It was discovered that two beams in the crawlspace needed support as well.

Our company came out and installed 2 Smart Jacks under the 2 support beams, we installed Drainage Matting with CleanSpace, SmartPipe and a SuperSump Pump. We also replaced the main crawlspace door and 2 crawlspace vents.

This customer reached out to our company in need of a solution for his damp and humid crawlspace. Currently, the insulation was falling down and there was a dehumidifier running 24/7 that he found himself emptying, at least twice a day. We came out to the property and installed our SilverGlo Insulation, Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier along with our SmartDrain and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. Now this bright, clean and dry crawlspace can be used for storage again and the homeowner can be worry free of any damages that may have been caused by water and mold.
