The initial call for this property was basement flooring. They already had a waterproofing system and no active leaks, just wanted to get some flooring installed. When we arrived at the property ready to provide an estimate for flooring, the inspector he did notice a few issues. There was a horizontal crack going along one side of the block foundation, which left unattended for too long could turn in to a costly issue, the basement walls were showing mold growth and the current windows and window wells, had seen better days. The window wells were metal, rusting and filled with dirt and debris, now with a heavy rainfall, water could fill up in the well and then leak in through the windows, knowing this information, the customer agreed it was time to upgrade.
The upgrade included two Everlast Window Inserts and 3 Sun house wells with Dome covers.
This customer reached out regarding a window leak in the unfinished part of the basement. Due to heavy rain, the window would leak right under the old window well, so we removed it and installed our Egress window well. Finishing up, we placed a polycarbonate cover that keeps rain and debris out while still allowing natural sunlight in.
This was a previous customer of ours, we had just finished up with waterproofing their basement and they asked us to finish it as well. Included in that finish the customer requested an Egress window install as an emergency exit.
We installed a 27 x 45 In-Swing Egress with a metal well and plastic cover. Not only will this new egress add a safe exit in case of an emergency but will also add a lot of natural lighting in the basement.
In this Wilmington basement, the walls had water seeping into the corner of the home, which started to build up and create mold in the area. We went out to the property to assess the area and installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier that will reduce the moisture and capture the wall leaks seeping in. This durable 7-layer polyethylene reinforced composition keeps humidity down which will make your basement free of mold, mildew and even seals out cold drafts during the colder months.
At this property, the owner had a number of sump systems throughout the basement and was still getting water into the home during heavy rain. We removed the old pump in the corner of the basement and installed our SuperSump pump system with Zoeller M53 iron pump. This install comes with a liner and an airtight lid that has a WaterWatch alarm system, which will let the homeowner know if the water level has risen too high. This system's feature is designed to have top performance and includes the best components.
