The initial call to our company was for basement waterproofing. The complaint was that water would get into the basement every time it would rain and then it would just progress with every rainfall, more and more water was getting in. When we got out there to assess the water issue, it became apparent that there was a problem with the customer's foundation. To correct these foundation issues we installed two push piers and seven, 8' Power Braces.
Push Piers are installed and locked under the home's foundation, allowing the weight from the foundation to transfer from the unstable soil to the stabilized piers. Power Braces are installed by anchoring to your basement floor and floor joist. The Power Brace is designed to be tightened over time and can potentially reverse the failing wall.
On this project, we had to perform Urethane injections to 45ft tall foundation wall cracks. On the one foundation wall, we had to inject Epoxy into 30 cracks in order to strengthen the foundation's integrity by using the water-resistant epoxy. Once the cracks were filled, we removed the excess epoxy in order for the owner to touch up or stain the discoloration from the dry injections. Lastly, we reinstalled the foam boards we removed and taped seams flush against the walls.
In order to put this property on the market, the customer had to take care of the horizontal crack on the foundation wall. The solution for this foundation repair was our Carbon Armor Wall reinforcement system.
We used 12 Carbon Fiber strips, made from fiber-reinforced polymer that's 10 times stronger than steel, to strengthen and stabilize foundation walls that are bowed or cracked. We also used our ArmorLock system, which stops inward wall movement by connecting the CarbonArmor fiber strips to the home's perimeter framing.
This customer reached out to us for joist sistering on an exterior foundation wall and still had concerns of the same wall bowing in the basement. After the joist sistering was on the exterior of the home, we applied our Carbon Armor system to the interior wall of the basement. The Carbon Armor System permanently stabilizes your home's foundation walls using fiber-reinforced polymers, which are 10x stronger than steel.
In this basement, the homeowner was getting water in through the wall cracks, and one wall was beginning to bow due to outside pressure from soil and water. To stabilize the bowing wall, we installed our PowerBrace foundation wall repair system, which is designed to straighten the walls over time and save the integrity of the foundation. This system is conducted with steel beams that get secured under the rim joist and are stabilized with steel brackets, which will make it easy to adjust over time to its original place.
