A homeowner living in Shrewsbury, NJ had a nasty crawl space where they were experiencing high moisture and a musty odor. They contacted their local experts, Quality 1st Basements for a free estimate and a solution to their concerns. Our Senior System Design Specialist, Ken Peare, did a full inspection of the crawl space and noticed water marks along the walls and floor. The crawl space vents were not sealed completely shut allowing humidity inside and there was signs of pests and critters as well. 

Quality 1st Basements recommended a full encapsulation system. Foreman Juan Garcia and his team installed a heat barrier known as SilverGlo on the walls of the crawl space for the cold winter months. Over the SilverGlo, our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is installed to prevent water vapor and humidity from coming through the foundation walls into the crawl space area. By encapsulating the crawl space, the area is completely sealed off from the harmful outside environment.  The homeowner was amazed at their crawl space transformation and can't wait to use this space for additional storage. 

A homeowner in Shrewsbury, New Jersey noticed water and moisture seeping through their crawl space walls and floors. Water can get into the basement because of the poorly compacted soil around the home's foundation. Over time, this soil becomes saturated during periods of heavy rainfall and creates hydrostatic pressure, which lets the water seep into the walls. Installing the vapor barrier system is a quick process and attaches to the walls with plastic pegs, giving the crawl space a bright and fresh appearance. Now, the crawl space will prevent moisture from getting in from the outside elements.
