In Nottingham, MD, a homeowner was dealing with persistent moisture intrusion in their basement, caused by small cracks along the foundation walls that allowed water to seep in during heavy rains. The ongoing damp conditions not only made the space uncomfortable but also raised concerns about potential mold growth and long-term structural damage. Seeking a permanent fix, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st for help.
After conducting a detailed inspection, our team designed a customized waterproofing solution that included the installation of our patented WaterGuard Drainage System to capture and redirect incoming water, our SuperSump Premier Sump Pump to ensure efficient and reliable water removal, and our mold-resistant CleanSpace Wall Panels to create a durable moisture barrier and improve overall air quality.
Together, these systems eliminated the seepage issues and transformed the basement into a dry, healthy, and protected space the homeowner could finally enjoy with peace of mind!
At this home, we removed the old sump pump system due to it malfunctioning when it would rain heavily, then installed our TripleSafe sump with twin liner and UltraSump battery backup. In order to keep this basement dry, it would need triple the protection that can handle high volumes of water and have a backup battery in case of a power outage. This product features an air-tight lid that will cut down the noise of the system and is the most reliable sump pump system.
In this partially finished basement in Nottingham, MD, the existing pump was no longer pumping out the amount of water it was taking in. We removed and hauled away the old carpet in order to install our SuperSump system that connects to the WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system. Alongside the foundation walls, we installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier that will capture any moisture leaking into the home and have it flow down into the floor drain. By installing this system, the partially finished basement will remain dry and in case of a power outage or circuit shorts, the backup battery will kick in, keeping the system flowing.
The basement in this home was going to be used as a daycare but before they could go forward with those plans, there needed to be a safe exit plan in play, in case exiting up the stairs, was not an option.
Currently there were 2 small, side by side, above grade windows and we needed to turn one into an Egress. This job ended up being a custom install of a 36x40 Egress Window.
Now with this install the customer can run his childcare program knowing the kids have a quick and safe exit in case of any emergencies.
In Pasadena, MD, a homeowner began noticing signs of foundation settlement in their basement, such as visible cracks in the walls and floors that were becoming uneven. The likely cause of the issue was prolonged water seepage due to an aging and underperforming sump pump that had failed to effectively manage groundwater around the foundation. As a result, water infiltration over time had created pressure on the basement walls and contributed to the settling of the foundation. Concerned about the potential for further damage, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st, seeking a professional and comprehensive solution to restore the stability and integrity of their home.
Our team responded by installing a series of advanced systems designed to tackle both the water intrusion and foundation issues. We began with the installation of our WaterGuard Drainage System, which was designed to redirect groundwater away from the foundation, preventing any further seepage. Next, we upgraded the existing sump pump to our powerful SuperSump Premier Sump Pump, ensuring efficient water removal. To address the moisture issues and improve the overall appearance of the basement, we installed CleanSpace Wall Panels, which act as a vapor barrier and prevent moisture from passing through the walls. Finally, to stabilize the bowing foundation walls, we used our CarbonArmor Reinforcing System, which uses high-strength carbon fiber straps to provide permanent wall stabilization.
With all these systems in place, we successfully restored the basement to a dry, healthy, and structurally sound condition, giving the homeowner peace of mind and lasting protection against future water and foundation problems.
