This customer needed a building code-approved egress window, so we took out their tiny, old window and installed a Rockwell window well with a large out-swing window. Not only does this basement now have more light coming in, but it also has a second way out of the basement in case there is an emergency. Inside the window well, we installed a WellDuct window well drain. The WellDuct directs any water that enters the window well into the existing interior drain tile system.
One common complaint customers have is concerning their basement windows. Oftentimes, the windows allow drafty, wintery air inside.
We installed an all-vinyl, energy-efficient EverLast Basement Window. These windows are airtight but easy to open. When unlocked, both panes can be removed for cleaning or for passing objects through – like a ladder or another item you’d rather not carry through your house.
We also installed a WellDuct window well drain in the window well outside. This drain is connected to the interior WaterGuard system to prevent window well flooding. Finally, we upgraded their pump to our 1/3 hp Zoeller pump.
This customer is now enjoying a draft-free environment with a look upgrade!
This customer had a finished basement and was trying to use it for extra living space, before it could be considered livable space, they needed to add an egress window and that is where we came in.
We came out and first dug out and cut through their poured foundation to prepare for the egress, we then installed a 48 x 48 Slider Egress Window with an Egress Premier RockWell and RockWell Cover. We also installed a Well Duct drain and connected it to their current waterproofing system.
When heavy rain consistently led to water collecting near their basement window, a New Castle, DE homeowner realized it wasn’t just a nuisance, it was a warning sign of potential water damage. Concerned about the risk of mold, wood rot, and long-term structural issues, they reached out to Quality 1st Basement Systems for a lasting solution. After a detailed inspection, our team identified a failing basement window with deteriorated seals and poor drainage as the primary cause of the moisture intrusion.
To effectively resolve the issue, we installed a new energy-efficient Egress Window, which provides a watertight seal while improving ventilation, natural light, and emergency egress in compliance with building codes. To further protect the basement, we added our Window WellDuct System, designed to redirect water from the window well directly into the home’s drainage system, preventing future pooling and seepage.
Together, these upgrades eliminated the homeowner’s water concerns and significantly enhanced the safety, function, and value of their basement space!
Water was entering the customers' Finished Basement through their Egress Window and if left unattended, this could have turned into an extremely costly nightmare for these homeowners. To help keep the basement dry, we installed a Triple Safe Sump pump, which will pump any water entering the basement to our Lawnscape Underground Pipe that directs the water out and away from the house.
