After a SmartJack Crawlspace Support System is installed to fix uneven floors, annual maintenance is recommended. Sometimes the foundation integrity is disrupted by settling soils and movement; therefore the Service Technician performs a number of steps during maintenance to ensure that all jacks are in good condition and doing their job to prevent sagging or uneven floors above. At this Neptune home, Service Technician Willie checked to make sure that all jacks were in solid contact with the overhead beams. Due to some loosening, Willie had to tighten the SmartJacks and check to make sure the beam was once again level. If conditions such as the above are noticed, a recommendation is made to have biannual maintenance due to the movement found. In the mean time, the SmartJacks continued to provide necessary support!
Quality 1st's recommended annual service on pumps include a complete disassembly and cleaning in order to keep the system operating at its best as a reliable wet basement solution. An important step in servicing a sump pump includes replacing the batteries on the WaterWatch Alarm and checking to ensure it is operating correctly. The WaterWatch Alarm has the job of alerting the homeowner if, for some reason, water has risen above the point where the pump should have been operating. A pump failure can cause water to seep into the living space, so with a properly operating WaterWatch Alarm, the homeowner will know when to contact the Quality 1st Service Team for service.
While this customer's SuperSump Sump Premier Pump System functions to pump up to 2,220 gallons of water per hour out of their garage, the customer decided during annual maintenance with Chris to add the UltraSump Battery Backup System. This additional battery-operated pump kicks in during a power outage or malfunction of main pump, thereby continuing to pump water out of the garage area. This backup system can pump more than 11,500 gallons of water on a fully-charged battery, providing continue protection against flooding until the main pump is operational again!
