Weakened Support Beam Solution In Egg Harbor Township, NJ Crawl Space
Challenge
Water seepage had become a constant source of stress for a homeowner in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Their crawl space was damp and musty, creating an unhealthy environment that raised serious concerns about mold, wood rot, and potential structural issues. As the moisture worsened, the homeowner noticed signs of sagging floors and an increase in indoor humidity, warning signs that the integrity of the home could be at risk. Wanting to protect their investment and restore peace of mind, they reached out to Quality 1st for a permanent solution.
Solution
After performing a comprehensive crawl space inspection, our team designed a customized waterproofing and structural repair plan. We began by installing our patented Drainage Matting along the crawl space floor to allow water to flow freely toward the newly added SmartSump Crawl Space Sump Pump. To ensure reliable drainage even during freezing conditions, we connected the system to our IceGuard Discharge Line, which prevents backup by allowing water to escape even if the exterior line becomes blocked by ice. Next, we sealed the crawl space using our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, a thick, durable liner that protects the space from ground moisture and improves overall cleanliness. To combat high humidity and improve air quality, our crew installed the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, a compact yet powerful system designed to keep the crawl space environment dry and mold-free. To address the structural concerns caused by weakened and sagging support beams, we also installed our SmartJack Support System. These adjustable steel supports were strategically placed to lift and stabilize the floors above, restoring the home’s structural integrity. With these systems working together, the homeowner’s crawl space was transformed into a dry, healthy, and stable environment, eliminating their worries and ensuring long-term protection for their home.
