A homeowner in Shrewsbury, New Jersey noticed water and moisture seeping through their crawl space walls and floors. Water can get into the basement because of the poorly compacted soil around the home's foundation. Over time, this soil becomes saturated during periods of heavy rainfall and creates hydrostatic pressure, which lets the water seep into the walls. Another reason moisture gets into the crawl space is from the dirt in the crawl space. This crawl space is not sealed from the earth, meaning the elements can easily enter the crawl space.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Jack Huber, was able to provide an inspection. Jack suggested they encapsulate the crawl space to keep it dry and sealed from the earth. Our foreman, Mario Barron, installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System throughout the crawl space to seal it from the earth. Installing the vapor barrier system is a quick process and attaches to the walls with plastic pegs, giving the crawl space a bright and fresh appearance. Now, the crawl space will prevent moisture from getting in from the outside elements.
This Ho Ho Kus, NJ crawl space was very cold. The freezing crawl space caused the first floor to be uncomfortable and also allowed pipes to freeze a few times over the winter. Quality 1st Basement Systems insulated the crawl space using SilverGlo crawl space insulation which will reflect heat back into the crawl space. SilverGlo will keep the crawl space and the rest of the home warmer. The residents have noticed a considerable change in their home's temperature, and their heating bills have gone down!
Homeowners Marty and Sue from Ho Ho Kus, NJ were experiencing water leakage from their crawl space walls. The problem would get worse when heavy rains would come and the walls were stained from the moisture. Quality 1st Basements installed CleanSpace liner to encapsulate the crawl space to protect it from water vapor and humidity. To get the initial moisture out of the crawl space, a SaniDry dehumidifier was installed to dry the air while the Super Sump was installed on the floor to drain out ground water and protect the crawl space against any future weather conditions.
Now Marty and Sue's walls are stain-free and their crawl space is dry and protected against humidity and moisture.

The homeowners of a crawl space in Normandy Beach, NJ wanted an encapsulation system installed. They were dealing with high humidity and moisture.
First, drainage matting was installed on the crawl space floor to help direct water to the sump pump. Drainage matting has raised dimples to give the water a channel underneath the crawl space liner. CleanSpace was installed on the crawl space walls and floors to keep water vapor and humidity from passing through. CleanSpace also gives the crawl space a bright and clean look and will not rip or tear. CleanSpace is the perfect solution for crawl space encapsulation and making sure the crawl space can be used for storage.
