Homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems about replacing the screen to the opening of the crawl space with a sealed door to prevent cold air and humidity from getting inside the crawl space. When the appointment was set, we sent out our Crawl Space Encapsulation booklet to the homeowner to help generate any other questions or concerns the new homeowner would have. By the time of the appointment, the homeowner wanted to get as much information as possible about encapsulation.
System Design Specialist, Ken Peare explained that the encapsulation of a crawl space is something that every homeowner should do because of the benefits. Encapsulation is when we stop moisture from passing through the walls and floor of the crawl space by installing a CleanSpace liner. This durable, bright white liner is mold and moisture resistant and waterproof to seal the crawl space off from unwanted cold drafts, humidity, dirt and pests that try to get inside.
Quality 1st Basement Systems was able to transform this crawl space making it healthier for the new homeowners living inside.
This Short Hills, NJ crawl space was dirty, wet and cold and the homeowners could feel that coldness come up through their floors. They contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to come and do a full inspection of their crawl space since they hadn't been down there in quite some time and the condition of it was unknown. The crawl space needed a complete waterproof system which consisted of WaterGuard and a SmartSump Pump specifically designed for the crawl space. Next, SilverGlo was installed on the floors and walls as a heat barrier keeping the crawl space warm and therefore the floors above warm as well. Lastly, a CleanSpace liner is installed over the SilveGlo as a vapor barrier. The CleanSpace will protect the crawl space against water, humidity, mold and moisture creating a clean dry environment in the crawl space.
This Sayreville, NJ homeowner was experiencing water seepage in their crawlspace when it would storm. The moisture gave off a musty odor that could be smelled throughout the home. Quality 1st Basements helped the homeowner create a healthier environment in their home and created added storage space by installing CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing they aren't breathing in unhealthy air from their crawlspace and can use the crawlspace for storage purposes.
A homeowner in Sayreville, New Jersey noticed water getting into their crawl space. This can happen because the poorly compacted soil around the home's foundation becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. This saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure which pushes water through the walls and floors. This can have many negative effects such as mold growth, musty smells, increased energy bills, and pests.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our foreman installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is thick like a pool liner and seals the crawl space from the earth. This system will prevent moisture and water from getting into the crawl space while giving it a bright and fresh appearance.
This homeowner in Springfield, New Jersey noticed their crawl space was developing a musty smell and attracting moisture. This happens when the soil is exposed to the crawl space. Soil can hold moisture and that moisture becomes water vapor that escapes into the crawl space air. The homeowner called Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist provide a thorough inspection and suggested they encapsulate the space. Our foreman installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is a thick and durable plastic liner. It is waterproof and mold resistant and will block any moisture from getting into the crawl space. Not only will the homeowner be protected from allergies, asthma, and pests, but they will also have a space for storage!
