Lifting and Leveling a Concrete Patio in Penn Valley, PA
Challenge
The homeowner in Penn Valley, PA began noticing that sections of their backyard patio were no longer sitting level. Over time, several areas of the concrete had settled unevenly, creating noticeable height differences between slabs along with multiple cracks throughout the surface. What had once been an inviting outdoor living space was becoming more difficult to enjoy as the uneven concrete created tripping hazards and diminished the overall appearance of the patio. Changes in the soil beneath the slab caused portions of the patio to lose support, allowing the concrete to sink while other sections remained in place. Solution
Ramon and his crew arrived on site and carefully mapped out each section of the patio that had experienced settlement. Using the PolyLevel system, they drilled small, strategically placed holes into the affected slabs before injecting high-strength expanding polyurethane foam beneath the concrete. As the foam expanded, it filled the empty spaces below the patio and gently raised the settled sections back toward their proper position with precision and control. Once the lifting process was complete, the team focused on protecting the repaired patio from future water intrusion. Existing joints and cracks were cleaned thoroughly before being sealed with NexusPro Sealant. Unlike traditional sealants that can crack, dry out, or deteriorate over time, NexusPro is designed to remain flexible while helping prevent water from entering beneath the slab. By limiting water infiltration, the homeowner reduces one of the primary causes of soil erosion and future concrete settlement.
