Quality 1st Basement Systems helped a homeowner in Oakland, New Jersey remove their trip hazard near the front walk of their home. We used our PolyLevel Injections to fill the void underneath the concrete slab. Once the void was removed, the concrete slab is raised back towards its original level. Concrete settlement like this is typically caused by changes in the soil underneath, such as poor compaction, moisture fluctuations, or erosion, that create voids and allow the concrete to sink. To address the issue, we recommended our advanced PolyLevel Foam Injection system. This minimally invasive technique involves injecting a high-density polyurethane foam beneath the affected slabs. A concrete slab in the backyard of this Old Bridge Township home was sinking about 3 inches.
