This concrete patio in Pittstown, New Jersey, was sinking and becoming unleveled. This happens because concrete is poured over backfilled soil around the home. Over time, this loose soil settles and creates voids under the concrete. As water runs through the cracks and joints in the concrete, it washes out the soil as it passes through. This causes the concrete to shift and settle. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems, and our System Design Specialist, Jeff Pitek came up with a plan to fix this issue. He suggested a polyurethane foam to fill the space under the concrete. Our foreman, Luis Aguirre, used the PolyLevel Injections to stabilize the concrete. This is done by drilling tiny holes in the slab so the polyurethane foam can fill the voids underneath. This will allow the concrete to be lifted and leveled.
