In Newark, MD, a homeowner grew concerned after noticing increasingly damp conditions in their basement, likely caused by wall cracks that were allowing water to seep in during wet weather. Worried about the risks of mold growth, structural damage, and a worsening moisture problem, they reached out to Quality 1st for a lasting solution. After a thorough inspection, our team developed a tailored waterproofing plan to address the water intrusion and protect the basement long-term.
To resolve the issue, we installed our patented WaterGuard Drainage System along the basement perimeter to capture and redirect seepage to a sump pump before it could reach the floor. We paired this with CleanSpace Wall Panels, which act as a vapor barrier while also brightening the space. For complete water removal, we added our reliable TripleSafe Sump Pump System, offering three levels of protection, including a battery backup for power outages. To prevent winter-related backups, we installed the IceGuard Discharge Line.
With all systems in place, we restored the basement to a dry, healthy, and worry-free environment, while delivering the homeowner with total peace of mind!
A basement shouldn’t feel like a rainforest, but that’s exactly what this Newark, DE homeowner was dealing with. Persistent humidity had turned their basement into a damp, musty space where moisture clung to the air and personal belongings began to show signs of mildew. Concerned about the long-term effects of excess humidity on their home’s structure and indoor air quality, the homeowner reached out to Quality 1st Basement Systems in search of a permanent, low-maintenance solution.
After a full evaluation, our team identified elevated relative humidity as the primary issue, not standing water, but ongoing moisture in the air that could lead to mold growth and wood rot if left untreated. We installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, a high-performance system designed specifically for basements and crawl spaces. This unit pulls moisture from the air efficiently, filters out allergens, and automatically drains to eliminate manual upkeep.
Within days, the basement felt noticeably drier and healthier, and the homeowner gained peace of mind knowing their home was now protected against future moisture problems!
For this customer, we installed our SuperSump to replace the old sump pump in the basement. Our SuperSump system is able to pump out 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of the basement. For protection, we put an optional backup battery in case of any circuit trip, power outage or pump failure.
At this home on the bottom of the stairwell door would get water build up to the point of wood rot. To prevent any build-up, we installed our TrenchDrain sub-floor drainage system that effectively captures the surface water from the doorway, then it flows down to the sump system. The heavy-duty drain system is placed sub-level, preventing any tripping hazard, and it also has a grated cover that can be easily removed for cleaning, which prevents corrosion and moisture damage.
For this customer's project, we installed 2 Egress windows with WellDucts. One egress was a 27x45 In-Swing Egress Window and the other a 60x48 Slider Egress Window.
