At this property in Elkton, MD, the homeowner was having their sump pump shut off during storms. We installed our UltraSump Battery Backup system that ties into the sump pump. This system will turn on if water rises above a certain point. It will remove up to 12,000 gallons of water on a fully-charged battery, keeping the basement of the home safe during power outages.
In Elkton, MD, a homeowner faced recurring challenges every time the rain poured. Their basement, which was supposed to be a safe space for storage, instead became a problem area with visible watermarks on the walls and moisture seeping up through the floor. Our recommendation was clear: installing a WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system paired with our reliable TripleSafe sump pump would effectively address the problem. The WaterGuard was discreetly installed beneath the basement floor nearby the wall, ready to channel any incoming water directly to our robust TripleSafe sump pump system. This triple-system pump set-up ensured that any water, even during power outages, would be efficiently directed away from the home, preventing any future seepage or flooding risks.
This basement was still wet from the last rain. It needed the patented basement waterproofing systems called WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a system that is designed to go on top of the footer so that it will not get clogged by the mud that is next to the footer.
We also installed the ThermalWall vapor barrier so that moisture from the foundation wall would not evaporate into the basement. We seal the top and tape the joints so that no air can escape. The bottom of the vapor barrier is installed into the WaterGuard system so that moisture can drain away. Now the basement has a guarantee against water seepage from the foundation walls, but it will also have less moisture in the air. It is now ready to use.
This install consisted of a Cleanspace Vapor Barrier, Waterguard and a SuperSump Pump with Battery Backup. The CleanSpace will direct any water that the customer had coming in through their block foundation, down to the waterguard, which will then flow the water over to the SuperSump and pumped out of the basement. Our SuperSump Pump has a high end 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump that pumps out over 2600 gallons per hour and when paired with our UltraSump Battery Back Up, this customer's basement will stay dry during any power outages.
