After noticing persistent moisture and musty odors in their basement, this homeowner from Baltimore, MD knew the space needed protection from the ground up. Water vapor and damp conditions were affecting storage items and creating an unhealthy environment. To solve the problem, they installed CleanSpace, a durable vapor barrier designed to seal out moisture and improve overall air quality.
CleanSpace now lines the basement, blocking groundwater moisture and preventing damp air from entering the space. Its bright, clean finish instantly made the basement look better while creating a dry, controlled environment. With moisture under control and odors eliminated, the homeowner can now use their basement with confidence, knowing it’s protected for the long term.
This old, cold, and leaking window needed to be replaced, so we installed an all-vinyl, energy-efficient EverLast Basement Window. These windows are airtight but easy to open. When unlocked, both panes can be removed for cleaning or for passing objects through – like a ladder or another item you’d rather not carry through your house.
We also installed a WellDuct window well drain in the window well outside. This drain is connected to the interior WaterGuard system to prevent window well flooding. We also wanted to prevent vapor transmission through the walls, so the ThermalDry Wall vapor barrier was installed. Not only does ThermalDry Wall help to lower relative humidity, but it also has a radiant shield that reflects up to 97% of the heat back into the basement.
This customer reached out regarding their finished basement and had a window that had been leaking due to heavy rainfall. Our team had gone out to the property to remove the part of the wall to install our WellDuct Window drain. The window drain prevents the window from flooding your basement and transports the water straight from the window down to the sub-floor drainage system that connects to the sump pump.
In this unfinished basement, water would build up at the back door due to the old trench drain collecting debris. We were able to remove the old trench drain from the entryway and installed our TrenchDrain water system. The sub-floor drain captures any surface water and has a grated cover that can easily be removed and cleaned, keeping your basement entry dry.
When a Baltimore, MD homeowner noticed their basement turning damp and uncomfortable, they knew it was time to take action before moisture caused more serious damage. Persistent humidity and saturated conditions not only compromised the space’s usability but also raised concerns about mold growth and structural decay.
Upon inspection, our Quality 1st team discovered the root cause: the basement lacked a proper vapor barrier and efficient moisture control systems, allowing water vapor to infiltrate and linger unchecked.
To combat the issue, we implemented a tailored waterproofing solution featuring our patented CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System, which effectively seals basement walls and floors to block moisture intrusion and prevent mold. Complementing this, we installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, a high-efficiency system designed to maintain optimal humidity levels year-round.
Together, these systems transformed the basement into a dry, healthy, and protected environment, giving the homeowner peace of mind and restoring full functionality to their space!
