We had Quality 1st complete two jobs for us - (1) basement waterproofing and (2) basement renovation/finishing - and we could not be happier with how it went and the outcome.
On the waterproofing, they were in and out within a day, and the work itself was very clean and thorough. This involved everything from jackhammering the floor to install their drainage systems to adding 2 new sump pumps (replacing 2 old ones) and wrapping the walls. Our basement was regularly damp and after heavy rains would noticeably see water coming through parts of the wall, while humidity levels got higher. We have since had various heavy rain storms and everything is as dry as it can get, and the sump pumps are clearly pumping a lot of water out. Humidity levels are also very low (constantly measured by a dehumidifier), which shows it's keeping water out.
On the renovation/finishing, this (luckily) went as smoothly as we could have hoped, and Thomas and his crew (led by Ulisses) were genuinely great to work with. Thomas was a great communicator with us throughout every step of the process, so there were no surprises, and he was on top of all of the major and minor details of the project at all times. Ulisses and his team were also thorough and hard-working (each day we saw noticeable progress) and incredibly respectful of our home and property. Every evening they would clean up everything as much as possible, lock the doors behind them, and also let us know if we ever needed to avoid going downstairs due to anything specific (paint drying, sharp materials being a potential hazard if our kids went to see things, etc.). Any time they needed to use a different part of our home (bathroom, or walk through the kitchen to get bigger pieces downstairs), they always made sure things were clean and respected. The project ended up being complete a week ahead of schedule, and after about a month of it being done and us starting to use the space, we couldn't be happier.
It's also worth noting that Thomas, Ulisses, and team were genuinely nice to interact with. They were always positive, respectful, and kind, and it was bittersweet once the project was over, as we got used to having them around the house. It's not every day that you do home construction that goes as planned, is well done, and you appreciated interacting with the group you hired, so we feel lucky to have chosen them for this project.
Would recommend them for anyone looking to do anything in their basement without hesitation.
