Moisture issues in unfinished basements are common, especially when exposed foundation walls allow dampness to enter over time. In this Elkton, MD home, the homeowner had started noticing moisture buildup along the block foundation walls of their unfinished basement and wanted to address the issue before it became more serious. After inspecting the space, our team determined that the basement would benefit from a complete waterproofing system focused on controlling both water intrusion and humidity.

The first step in the project was installing the WaterGuard drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is installed just beneath the basement floor and is specifically designed to capture water entering through the wall-floor joint before it can spread across the surface. Once collected, the water is directed toward the sump pump system for removal.

To provide dependable protection against water intrusion, we installed the TripleSafe sump pump system. This system uses multiple pumps to help manage varying water conditions and includes backup protection for added reliability during heavy rain or power outages.

Our team also installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the basement walls. This durable liner helps isolate the basement from moisture entering through the foundation walls while also improving the appearance of the unfinished space. The bright, clean finish creates a more controlled and protected environment throughout the basement. With the full waterproofing system in place, the basement was transformed from a damp and vulnerable area into a dry, healthier, and more reliable space.
