Next, durable steel brackets attached the helical pier to the foundation's footing, keeping it snug against the foundation. The helical piering system stops foundation settlement, which will prevent the chimney from tilting again once it is moved back into place. The helical piering system is a permanent solution to foundation problems, as opposed to just patching up the problem temporarily.
