Foundation Repair Photo Album: Weak Floors Stabilized in Belford, NJ
A homeowner in Belford, New Jersey was experiencing their floors sagging, and cracking in their walls. This can happen if the columns are spaced too far apart because the beam can become overloaded and begin to sag. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Jack Huber provided an inspection and suggested they install new steel support beams. Our foreman used the SmartJack Steel Support System which is done by first removing soil where the beams will go. Then, the steel beams are assembled and the SmartJack system is tightened into place. The support beams and floor joists are immediately stabilized and lifted.
Cracking in Wall
Wall cracking can happen on the exterior and even the interior of the home. This is a symptom of foundation settlement.
Installing SmartJacks
First, the soil is to be removed where the SmartJack system will be placed. The hole is filled with concrete or engineered fill to create a stable footing.
SmartJack Installation Process
The SmartJack is then assembled and connected to the support beam, where it is tightened into place.
SmartJacks Installed
The SmartJack System is engineered to support heavy weight and large homes. This system does not replace the original beams, but they give support to help stabilize the home.
