Foundation Repair Photo Album: Foundation Repair in Irvington, NJ
A homeowner in Irvington, New Jersey noticed the walls in their basement were cracking, which is a sign of foundation issues. This can happen because of changes in the surrounding soil around the foundation. Extreme moisture changes such as drought and oversaturation, create soil movement. The movement shifts and settles the home. If gone unrepaired, the home could sink even more, causing safety hazards.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Javier Hoyos Romero, was able to help them find a solution to this issue. He suggested steel piers to be placed underneath the foundation. Our foreman, Jonathan Neira, installed the Push Pier System which will permanently stabilize the home's foundation. The steel tube sections are hydraulically driven through steel foundation brackets to reach the competent soil. The weight of the home is transferred from the original unstable soils, through the piers to the competent soil. This system does not require the use of heavy equipment and it is kept out of sight.
