A Perth Amboy homeowner was experiencing water in their basement during heavy rains. The homeowner came across Quality 1st Basements from The Home Mag and contacted Quality 1st for a free estimate. System Design Specialist, Thomas Nehme went to inspect the home and recommended the homeowner waterproof their basement. First WaterGuard was installed by Foreman Victor Leon and his crew, which goes under the floor slab so it does not interfere with anything and is out of the mud zone to prevent clogging. Next, the TripleSafe sump pump was installed with three levels of protection for the basement that can pump up to 11,500 gallons of water. In case of a power outage or pump failure, the pumps UltraSump Battery will kick in to make sure the pump continues to pump water out of the basement. IceGuard was installed outside the home to discharge the water out of the basement. IceGuard has slot openings so in the winter months the water can escape instead of freezing and causing the pipes to burst.  The homeowner also had a problem with cracking foundation walls. The solution to this was to install CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System, which uses the same technology as the Army Corps of Engineers developed to reinforce bomb shelters, skyscrapers, and bridges. Using high strength epoxy resin, straps are attached the wall and secured with heavy-duty steel brackets. The straps will stabilize the wall and begin to pull it back to its original position, preventing further problems.  The homeowner was pleased that they now have a waterproofed basement and a stabilized foundation.
