In a recent project in Paramus, NJ, we encountered a homeowner grappling with persistent crawl space moisture issues. This homeowner reached out to us initially after experiencing recurring musty odors and high humidity, worrying that these conditions could potentially lead to mold growth and other related problems. To address this, we devised a comprehensive plan aimed at transforming the compromised crawl space into a dry, healthy environment. Our solution featured the CleanSpace system, SilverGlo wall insulation, and the high-performance SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. We installed our CleanSpace liner, a robust encapsulation system made with high-density materials that resist tearing and degrade over time. This would effectively block out unwanted moisture while significantly deterring mold growth. Simultaneously, SilverGlo wall insulation was lined up, providing continuous R-11 insulation to the crawl space. This innovative insulation not only increased energy efficiency but additionally functioned as a vapor barrier, directing water to drain away safely. Finally, the SaniDry Sedona was brought in to regulate humidity. Known for high efficiency, this small but powerful unit promised to keep the crawl space significantly drier and contribute to a healthier overall home environment.
