This Bergenfield, New Jersey homeowner noticed a musty smell in their crawl space. Since it wasn't an area they inspected often, they needed a professional out to do an evaluation. System Design Specialist, Mike Dellechiaie, performed an inspection and noticed the musty smell was from dampness coming up from the dirt floor. Dirt and soil hold a lot of moisture which can turn into water vapor that rises into the air and creates issues in the crawl space.  Mike suggested they encapsulate the space to seal it from the outside elements. A few days later, we installed our Drainage Matting and our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System. Drainage matting is installed first by removing dirt and debris and leveling uneven surfaces. CleanSpace is installed with drilled-in spikes and will prevent moisture and humidity from passing through the crawl space. When the job was complete, the homeowner was happy to see their crawl space was dry and healthy!
