Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Basement Waterproof Installation in West Orange, NJ
A homeowner in West Orange, New Jersey noticed their basement had water seeping in through the walls and floors. This occurs because of poorly compacted soil around the home's foundation. Over time, this soil becomes saturated during heavy rainfall and creates hydrostatic pressure, pushing water and moisture through the walls. This can have many negative effects on the home such as musty smells, damp carpets, pests, dust mites, and poor air quality.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Jonathan Seminerio, provided an inspection of the home and suggested they install a waterproofing system to prevent water from getting in the basement. Our foreman, Jonathan Neira, installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which is placed along the basement walls. This system will prevent moisture from entering the basement, and will also catch any water seeping in from the walls, and drain it to the sump pump. Next, the foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System which sits on top of the foundation footing to be kept out of the mud zone and prevent any clogging. Then, the foreman installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which has three pumps in one liner. It has an airtight enclosed lid to prevent moisture from getting into the basement. Lastly, the foreman installed the IceGuard Discharge Line which will allow water to pass through the openings, even if the pipes are blocked by snow and ice.
