The space contained aging and weakened wood components that needed to be addressed before the crawl space could be properly protected and encapsulated.
Crawl Space
Our team at Quality 1st Basement Systems began the project with TrueFloor structural work, including removing and replacing the main support beam and completing TrueFloor joist sistering and replacement where the existing framing needed additional support.
Wood Beams
TrueFloor allows our team to address compromised crawl space framing directly, rather than simply covering the existing wood and leaving structural concerns underneath.
Encapsulation
Once the woodwork was completed, the project moved into the crawl space encapsulation and support phase.
Vapor Barrier
We installed CleanSpace over the crawl space floor to create a durable barrier between the ground and the space above, helping control moisture vapor from the soil.
Insulation
SilverGlo insulation panels were installed along the crawl space walls to help improve the thermal performance of the space, and six SmartJacks were installed to provide adjustable support beneath the structure.
Encapsulated Crawl Space
By combining TrueFloor structural repairs with crawl space encapsulation, insulation, and adjustable support, our team addressed several different conditions within the space as part of one comprehensive project.
Drainage Matting
This system allows moisture to move underneath the encapsulation instead of becoming trapped.
