Challenge

This homeowner had a dirty, concrete crawl space. He contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems because he wanted to have the crawl space encapulated and insulated. Upon inspection, Collin, found that the crawl space was not only very dirty, but very cold. There was a lot of debris in the crawl space which can be a breeding ground for mold. The walls of the crawl space were dark and cold. The homeowner also explained to Collin that the floor above the crawl space was always cold. Although there were no signs of water in the crawl space, the crawl space was cold and unusable.

Solution

The team installed the CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system, TerraBlock, Drainage Matting, and a crawl space vent cover. TerraBlock is high-performance crawl space insulation that includes a durable moisture barrier. TerraBlock can be installed directly over any type of crawl space floor, providing a clean, dry surface that helps the home feel more comfortable and reduce heating and cooling bills by making the home more energy efficient.
