Waterproofing a Damp Dirt Crawl Space in Ewing, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Ewing, NJ was dealing with a dirt crawl space that had become damp from ongoing moisture intrusion. Dirt crawl spaces naturally allow moisture from the ground to enter the space, creating conditions that can contribute to musty odors, elevated humidity, mold growth, and poor air quality throughout the home. Without a dedicated waterproofing and moisture management system, the crawl space remained vulnerable to groundwater and seasonal weather changes.
Solution
To permanently improve the environment beneath the home, our team installed a complete crawl space encapsulation system. CleanSpace was installed across the crawl space floor and walls to isolate the home from ground moisture while creating a clean, durable vapor barrier. A TripleSafe sump pump system was added to provide dependable protection against groundwater, including multiple levels of pumping capability for added reliability during heavy storms. To ensure water is carried safely away from the home after being discharged, we also installed StarPipe, a durable discharge line designed to direct water away from the foundation while helping reduce the chance of drainage issues. To complete the system, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to continuously remove excess humidity from the air, helping maintain a dry, healthy crawl space. Working together, CleanSpace, TripleSafe, StarPipe, and the SaniDry Sedona transformed this once damp dirt crawl space into a clean, dry, and protected space designed to help safeguard the home for years to come.
