Crawl Space Encapsulation in South Amboy, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in South Amboy, NJ reached out to our team after noticing ongoing issues within their crawl space, including persistent dampness and generally poor conditions throughout the area. The crawl space was accessible from the outside. Over time, debris and old materials had accumulated, and without proper protection, ground moisture was freely entering the space. During the initial inspection, our specialist evaluated the crawl space for moisture levels, insulation performance, and overall air quality. It was determined that the lack of a proper vapor barrier was allowing moisture from the soil to rise into the crawl space, which can eventually impact the home’s structure, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency. The damp conditions also made the home more vulnerable to mold, mildew, wood rot, and cold floors above.
Solution
To address these issues, we recommended a full crawl space encapsulation and insulation system. First, the area was cleaned and prepared to ensure proper installation. We then installed CleanSpace, a durable vapor barrier that completely seals the crawl space floor and walls, blocking ground moisture and outside air from entering the space. This creates a controlled environment that protects the home from humidity and moisture-related damage. Next, we installed SilverGlo insulation panels along the crawl space walls. SilverGlo provides high-performance insulation while also reflecting heat back into the space, improving energy efficiency and helping maintain more consistent indoor temperatures throughout the home. After the installation, the crawl space was transformed from a damp, messy environment into a clean, dry, and insulated space. The homeowner now benefits from improved air quality, reduced moisture risk, better temperature control, and long-term protection for the home’s foundation and structure.
