Crawl Space Transformation in Ewing, NJ
Challenge
In Ewing, NJ, a homeowner reached out to us with concerns about their inefficient and unfinished crawl space. With a concrete floor and about four feet of clearance, the area wasn't flooding, but it wasn't optimized either, leading to concerns about energy loss and overall home stability. Upon receiving their call, one of our trusted Customer Care Specialists promptly scheduled an appointment for the homeowner. Our System Design Specialist, Mike then assessed the situation, identifying the key issues at play. The crawl space needed proper insulation, air and moisture sealing, and structural reinforcements.
Solution
We proposed a comprehensive solution to address these concerns effectively. With our CleanSpace encapsulation system, we sealed the crawl space from the outside air and moisture, preventing common pitfalls like mold and wood rot. This system significantly improves air quality by keeping unwanted moisture out. To enhance energy efficiency, we installed SilverGlo insulation on the walls, offering superior R-11 insulation with its graphite-impregnated material. This choice not only insulated the space but also provided a vapor barrier against any moisture attempting to penetrate. For structural support, we used our SmartJack system. This adjustable solution offered the stability required to support the structure above and minimized any floor "bounce." The galvanized steel components of SmartJack provided a durable, reliable base that their home needed. The homeowner now enjoys a clean, efficient, and stable crawl space. Improved energy efficiency, reduced moisture risk, and stable structures have uplifted the entirety of their home's lower levels.
