Transforming a Damp and Sagging Crawl Space in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
Challenge
The homeowner in Point Pleasant Beach wasn’t quite sure of the crawl space height, but knew something wasn’t right. The space, which had outdoor access and a concrete foundation, was sloping and showing signs of bowing in a key structural beam. Moisture was also a concern, and they were looking for a full vapor barrier solution to keep their home dry and protected for the long haul.
Solution
One of our System Design Specialists visited the property to assess the space. Upon inspection, he confirmed the homeowner’s concerns: the beam showed signs of structural compromise, and the exposed earth and concrete walls were contributing to ongoing moisture and humidity issues. He recommended a multi-part solution that would both protect the crawl space from the elements and reinforce the structure from beneath.
Led by Foreman Heriberto, our team installed:
-
CleanSpace Encapsulation System: A durable vapor barrier lining the floors and walls to prevent moisture from seeping in.
-
SilverGlo Wall Insulation: Foam panels with a reflective surface that insulate and brighten the space.
-
SmartJacks Support Posts: Heavy-duty steel jacks installed under the bowing beam to permanently stabilize the floor above.
The team worked efficiently and cleanly, despite the outdoor-only access and sloping layout. The transformation was immediate: a previously unstable and damp crawl space is now dry, insulated, and structurally secure.
