This homeowner in Ridgefield, New Jersey has been a loyal customer of Quality 1st Basement Systems for eight years! It was time for their annual sump pump maintenance which was provided by our service team. This maintenance is crucial because it prolongs the lifespan of the system.
A homeowner in Ridgefield, New Jersey was experiencing water getting into her basement, as well as her sump pump not working properly. Sump Pumps can fail over time if they are not properly maintained. The system works hard to pump water from the basement and over time if not cleaned and flood tested it can fail. A wet and leaky basement can have many negative effects such as musty smells, increased heating and cooling bills, and even mold.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Greg Louis, was able to provide an inspection and help them find a solution. He suggested they replace their old sump pump, and install a French drain system. Our foreman, Jonathan Neira, installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which has an airtight enclosed lid to prevent any moisture from getting into the basement. This sump pump system has three sump pumps built into a twin liner, and also has a backup pump to kick in if the power goes out. Next, the foreman installed the WaterGuard Drain System which drains into the sump pump system to remove water and keep the basement dry. This drain system is placed along the perimeter of the basement floor, under the slab and on top of the footing to be kept out of the "mud zone." Now, the homeowner does not have to worry about water getting into the basement.
