Challenge

A homeowner in Metuchen, NJ had approximately 1,000 to 1,200 square feet of completely unfinished basement space and wanted to turn it into a recreational area. The basement was essentially a blank slate with no finished ceiling, leaving the homeowner with a large amount of unused space that needed a cohesive finishing plan. The goal was to create a comfortable, finished environment with durable materials suited to the conditions of a below-grade basement.

Solution

Quality 1st Basement Systems designed and completed a Total Basement Finishing transformation with Joe H. serving as the System Design Specialist and Chris C. serving as foreman. The team installed EverLast wall panels throughout the basement, along with BrightWall to create a clean finished appearance. A new linen drop ceiling was added to complete the upper portion of the room while maintaining access to utilities. Two new EverLast basement windows updated the existing window areas, and ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring was installed to complete the floor. Together, these elements transformed the blank basement into a cohesive recreational space with finished walls, ceiling, windows, and flooring.
