Photo Album: Wet Walls Saved in Sayreville, NJ

A homeowner in Sayreville, NJ had a problem. His finished basement was getting wet, and it was damaging his walls. The homeowner was concerned because he had a painting on his wall from a close friend who passed away that he wanted to preserve. If it got wet, it would be destroyed. He called Quality 1st Basement Systems to inspect his property and waterproof his basement to save his friend's painting. Basement specialist Dan McNally inspected the property and found water damaged, moldy walls, water coming through the windows, and a cold basement. He suggested basement insulation, waterproof walls and new windows. In order to waterproof the walls, Quality 1st Basement Systems installed EverLast Basement wall panels. EverLast will never grow mold, since it made out of inorganic material. Mold loves to grow on wood in humid spaces, but it will never grow on the EverLast vinyl. Usually EverLast walls are installed in half and full sizes, but Quality 1st Basement Systems custom fit EverLast wall under the painting to keep it safe. EverLast has built in insulation SilverGlo insulation uses graphite to reflect heat and keep the area warm. This is a better insulator than fiberglass because fiberglass can grow mold and gets damaged when it is wet. A WaterGuard basement drain was installed to catch the water and redirect it to a sump pump, away from the house. The basement drain is covered with a layer of concrete, so it is invisible. To keep the windows waterproof, vinyl windows were installed. These will never rot or rust, and let in plenty of natural sunlight. The owner of this basement is incredibly happy that his friend's painting is safe. The basement stays dry, and the area is warmer with the new insulation. All of the walls look amazing and are waterproof!
