Photo Album: Encapsulated Crawl Spaces in English Club, NJ Apartments

An apartment building in Englishtown, New Jersey had multiple units with crawl spaces that needed to be encapsulated. The crawl spaces had moisture and the floors above the crawl space were sagging. The property manager contacted Quality 1st for a free estimate. Our system design specialist inspected the crawl spaces and suggested the crawl spaces be fully encapsulated as well as supported to ensure the floors will not sag anymore. First, CleanSpace Drainage Matting was installed on the crawl space floor to allow water to pass through without getting trapped. The matting has raised dimples in order for the water to pass through and can be used on all types of crawl space floors. Next, SilverGlo was installed on the walls to add insulation to the crawl space. SilverGlo boasts a radiant barrier, which reflects heat back into the crawl space for energy savings. CleanSpace  Vapor Barrier system was installed on the crawl space floors and walls for added insulation and preventing water vapor and humidity from passing through. This durable liner will protect against mold, rot, rips and tears and convert the crawl space into a usable storage area. To provide dehumidification and air filtration a dehumidifier was installed, SaniDry Sedona. This humidifier is the world' most efficient, high performance dehumidifier. The Sedona keeps the humidity below 55%, so mold can not grow. Finally, to fix the sagging crawl space floors, SmartJacks were installed in the crawl spaces. The SmartJack system provides solid support to restore stability to sagging floor joists in the crawl spaces. SmartJack installation is easy and a permanent solution. All of the crawl spaces in the apartments are ecapsulated and can be used for storage by the people living there.
