Transforming a Damp Dirt Crawl Space in Ewing, NJ

Many homeowners rarely think about their crawl space until moisture problems begin affecting the rest of the home. For this project in Ewing, NJ, the homeowner had a dirt crawl space where persistent dampness created an environment that needed long-term protection. Our System Design Specialist first evaluated the crawl space to understand where moisture was entering and how it was affecting the area beneath the home. Dirt crawl spaces naturally release moisture into the air, and without proper protection, that humidity can contribute to mold growth, wood deterioration, musty odors, and poor indoor air quality throughout the house.

Our installation crew began preparing the crawl space for encapsulation. The existing dirt floor was transformed with our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system, creating a durable vapor barrier that helps isolate the home from ground moisture while giving the crawl space a much cleaner appearance. To address groundwater, our team installed a TripleSafe sump pump system. Designed with three levels of protection, the TripleSafe collects and removes water before it can accumulate beneath the home, providing dependable performance during both everyday conditions and severe storms. Once the water leaves the sump system, it travels through a newly installed StarPipe discharge line, which directs water safely away from the home's foundation to help prevent it from cycling back toward the crawl space. The final step was installing a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Even after standing water is controlled, excess humidity can remain trapped within a crawl space. The Sedona continuously removes moisture from the air, helping maintain healthy humidity levels while reducing the conditions that allow mold growth, musty odors, and wood deterioration to develop.

By combining CleanSpace encapsulation, TripleSafe sump system, StarPipe drainage, and SaniDry Sedona humidity control, this Ewing, NJ crawl space was completely transformed. What was once a damp dirt crawl space is now a cleaner, drier, healthier space that helps protect the home from the ground up.
