A cracked and uneven pool deck can quickly take away from the enjoyment of an outdoor space. Over time, changes in the soil beneath concrete can cause slabs to settle, leaving behind uneven surfaces, visible cracks, and areas that become difficult or unsafe to walk across. For this concrete repair project, our team helped restore a pool area that had experienced significant settlement. Several sections of the concrete had dropped approximately 4 to 5 inches over time, creating noticeable uneven areas throughout the pool deck. Along with the settlement, cracking had developed across the surface, leaving the homeowner looking for a solution that could improve the area without completely replacing the existing concrete.

The first step in the process was evaluating the condition of the pool deck and identifying where the concrete had lost support beneath the surface. Settlement often occurs when the soil underneath concrete shifts, compresses, or washes away, leaving empty spaces that allow slabs to sink. Understanding the cause of the movement allowed our team to determine the best repair approach.

After the inspection was complete, our team began the concrete lifting process using PolyLevel. Small access holes were drilled into the settled sections of concrete, allowing the PolyLevel foam to be injected beneath the slab. As the high-strength polyurethane foam expanded, it filled the voids beneath the concrete and carefully lifted the sunken areas back toward their original position. One of the benefits of PolyLevel is that it provides a precise and controlled lift while creating a strong support system beneath the concrete. Unlike traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel is lightweight, water-resistant, and designed to provide long-lasting stabilization without adding additional weight to the soil beneath the slab.

Once the concrete was lifted and leveled, the next step was addressing the cracks and joints throughout the pool deck. Our team applied NexusPro Joint Sealant to help seal these vulnerable areas and create a flexible barrier against moisture. Preventing water from entering beneath concrete is an important part of helping reduce future soil erosion and settlement concerns. By combining PolyLevel concrete lifting with NexusPro crack and joint sealing, our team was able to transform this uneven pool deck into a safer and more attractive outdoor space. The homeowner was able to preserve their existing concrete while receiving a repair solution designed to improve stability, protect against future moisture issues, and extend the life of the pool area.
