Historic homes offer character and craftsmanship that newer homes often cannot replicate, but older basements can sometimes present moisture challenges. This homeowner in Wayne, PA had already seen water enter the basement in the past. Even though the space was unfinished, they wanted to solve the issue before it became more serious.
Our team evaluated the basement and identified the need for active water management rather than temporary surface fixes. The home's stone foundation walls made it especially important to choose a solution designed for long-term performance. Our System Design Specialist, Greg designed an interior waterproofing system centered around WaterGuard. This system collects water at the perimeter before it reaches the basement floor.

Water needs somewhere to go once collected. To support effective discharge, two SuperSump systems were installed to move collected water away from the home.

Foreman Bernie and the crew completed the installation while working within the historic structure and preserving the function of the unfinished basement.

The completed system transformed the basement from a space with known water concerns into one with a dedicated waterproofing strategy designed to manage future moisture events. For homeowners with older or historic homes, proactive waterproofing can help protect both the structure and the possibilities for the space moving forward.
