Basement Waterproofing and Wall Stabilization in Marlton, NJ
Challenge
In Marlton, a homeowner noticed worsening conditions within their basement after large cracks began developing along the block foundation walls. The cracks raised concerns about possible structural movement, while dampness along the walls pointed to ongoing moisture intrusion within the space. Over time, water intrusion and hydrostatic pressure around foundation walls can contribute to cracking and inward movement, especially in block foundation systems. The homeowner wanted to address these issues before they became more severe and potentially impacted the long-term integrity of the home. Because both structural stabilization and waterproofing were needed, the homeowner contacted our team for a complete solution tailored to the basement’s conditions.
Solution
After thoroughly evaluating the basement, our team designed a combined structural repair and waterproofing system to address the homeowner’s concerns. The first step in the project was installing the WaterGuard drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. Installed just beneath the floor surface, WaterGuard captures water entering through the wall-floor joint and channels it directly toward the sump pump system before it can spread across the basement floor. To remove collected water efficiently, we installed the SuperSump system. This sump pump system provides reliable water evacuation to help protect the basement from future water intrusion during heavy rainfall and changing groundwater conditions. To further isolate the basement from moisture, the foundation walls were lined with CleanSpace vapor barrier material. This durable liner helps reduce moisture transfer through the walls while also creating a cleaner and brighter appearance throughout the basement. To stabilize the cracked block foundation walls, CarbonArmor straps were installed along the affected areas. CarbonArmor is a carbon fiber reinforcement system designed to strengthen foundation walls and help prevent additional inward movement without major disruption to the basement. With all systems installed, the basement was transformed into a cleaner, drier, and structurally reinforced environment.
