Waterproofing and Foundation Repair in Ocean, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Ocean, NJ reached out after being told by another contractor that their basement wall was in the second stages of structural failure. The horizontal crack that ran along the wall had begun to widen, indicating early bowing due to hydrostatic pressure from the surrounding soil. The problem was made worse by recurring water intrusion during heavy rains, leaving behind dampness and efflorescence. The basement was unfinished, which allowed our team to fully assess the extent of the structural and waterproofing issues. With both foundation stability and moisture control concerns present, it was clear that the home needed a comprehensive repair plan, not just a quick patch.
Solution
Our team developed a full foundation and waterproofing solution to stabilize the wall and permanently protect the space from water. We began by applying CarbonArmor straps, a high-strength, carbon fiber reinforcement system designed to stabilize cracked and bowing basement walls. These straps bond directly to the wall, restoring structural integrity without invasive excavation. Next, we installed a WaterGuard perimeter drainage system at the basement footer to collect any incoming groundwater and channel it safely to a TripleSafe sump pump, which offers triple-pump protection in case of power outages or heavy rain events. To create a clean, finished look while further managing wall moisture, the walls were covered with BrightWall panels, which also direct any seepage behind them into the drainage system. Finally, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, ensuring the entire basement remained dry and free of mold or musty odors. The combined system now protects the homeowner’s foundation from further movement and moisture, offering both safety and peace of mind for years to come.
