Push Pier Installation in Media, PA
Challenge
A homeowner in Media, PA began noticing growing signs of foundation distress in their basement: cracks forming along the walls, doors sticking on the main floor, and visible unevenness developing over time. The home sat on a hill, which meant that the soil beneath it was gradually shifting due to gravity, moisture, and erosion. This movement created instability in the foundation, causing the structure to settle unevenly. Left untreated, the problem could have led to serious structural damage and costly repairs down the road. The homeowner reached out to our team seeking a permanent solution to stop the settlement and restore stability to their home’s foundation.
Solution
After a detailed inspection, our specialists determined that installing Push Piers would be the most effective and long-term solution. The team began by excavating small sections around the interior perimeter of the basement to expose the foundation’s footing and prepare for pier installation. Heavy-duty steel piers were hydraulically driven deep into stable soil or bedrock beneath the home, effectively bypassing the shifting upper layers of soil. Once each pier was securely in place, hydraulic equipment was used to carefully lift and stabilize the foundation to its proper level. Finally, the excavation areas were filled back in and finished with smooth concrete, leaving the basement clean and restored. With the Push Pier system now supporting the structure, the home was permanently stabilized and protected from future settlement, ensuring lasting security and peace of mind for the homeowner.
