Transforming a Damp Basement in Kintnersville, PA
Challenge
A homeowner in Kintnersville, PA noticed a long crack forming along the basement wall, along with visible signs of water damage. While there wasn’t standing water at the time, the wall staining and lingering dampness made it clear that the basement was vulnerable, especially during heavy rain. The homeowner wanted to address both the water intrusion and the structural weakness before it became more severe.
Solution
After reaching out to us at Quality 1st Basement Systems, our Customer Care team promptly scheduled an on-site inspection with our System Design Specialist, John. The inspection confirmed two major concerns: water seepage through the wall-floor joints and a compromised basement wall structure due to shifting or external pressure. To solve both problems, we recommended a full waterproofing and wall stabilization approach.
Our production team began by installing the WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system, which captures water before it reaches the basement floor and channels it directly to a newly installed TripleSafe Sump Pump System. This three-pump setup provides maximum protection, even during power outages or extreme weather.
Next, we sealed the basement walls with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, which prevents moisture from entering the space and gives the basement a clean, finished appearance. To address the wall crack and bowing, our team installed a series of PowerBraces, zinc-coated steel I-beams engineered to stabilize and potentially straighten failing foundation walls over time. These were placed directly over the CleanSpace system for added structural protection.
