Crawl Space Encapsulation & Insulation in Closter, NJ
Challenge
In Closter, NJ, a homeowner was dealing with persistent dampness in their vented crawl space. The moisture was creating an ideal environment for mold growth and was even affecting the comfort and air quality in the main living areas of the home. Additionally, their energy bills were steadily increasing, due to heat loss through the poorly insulated and unsealed crawl space.
Concerned about the long-term effects on their home's health and efficiency, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems for a comprehensive solution.
Solution
Our System Design Specialist, Dane, responded quickly and conducted a full evaluation of the crawl space. He confirmed the presence of high moisture levels and recognized the need for both moisture control and thermal insulation.
To solve the issue, we installed our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. This durable, UV-resistant liner, reinforced with polyester cord, was carefully fitted across the crawl space floor and walls to block out ground moisture and prevent future mold growth. The encapsulated space was immediately transformed into a clean, dry environment.
To further improve energy efficiency, we installed SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation. This graphite-infused foam insulation includes a built-in radiant barrier to reflect heat back into the crawl space, helping the homeowner retain warmth in winter and lower energy use year-round.
With both systems in place, the crawl space is now protected from moisture, mold, and energy loss, delivering a healthier and more cost-efficient home for the future.
