Crawl Space Repair and Moisture Control in Egg Harbor Township, NJ
Challenge
A homeowner in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, began noticing troubling signs throughout their home: sagging floors, soft spots along walkways, and a persistent musty odor. These symptoms pointed to deeper issues beneath the home, prompting a closer inspection. What they found was concerning: visible mold growth and high moisture levels in the crawl space were threatening both the home’s structural integrity and indoor air quality.
Worried about the progression of damage and potential health risks, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems for a dependable, long-term solution.
Solution
Our process began with a comprehensive inspection by one of our experienced sales team members. After assessing the crawl space’s structural condition and moisture levels, we determined that a combination of structural reinforcement and moisture control would be essential for restoring the home’s safety and comfort.
To begin, our production team installed the SmartJack support system to stabilize and lift the sagging floor joists. These galvanized steel supports were carefully placed and adjusted to restore the flooring to a more level position, addressing the structural instability.
Next, to combat the persistent moisture issues and prevent further mold growth, we encapsulated the crawl space using the CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. This heavy-duty liner effectively seals out ground moisture and creates a clean, dry environment beneath the home.
Finally, we installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control humidity levels long-term. This energy-efficient system actively removes moisture from the air, helping maintain healthy conditions and improving overall indoor air quality.
Thanks to this comprehensive approach, the homeowner now has a stable floor system, a dry and mold-resistant crawl space, and a healthier home environment.
