A homeowner in Towson, MD, experienced water intrusion through their basement wall. They contacted Quality 1st Basements, who conducted a comprehensive inspection. Our System Design Specialist, Jeff Yentzer, recommended the installation of WaterGuard, a drainage system designed to collect water from the walls and channel it towards the sump pump. Given the significant volume of water the homeowner was encountering, a TripleSafe sump pump system was installed. The TripleSafe offers superior protection against basement flooding through its three-pump configuration. In the event of a power outage or excessive water, the backup pumps will activate to ensure the area remains dry. Additionally, an IceGuard was installed to prevent any backups or freezing in the discharge line. The homeowner can now enjoy peace of mind knowing that their basement is safe and dry.
WaterGuard Trench
A trench was dug to prepare for the installation of WaterGuard. The system is placed below the floor slab but above the "mud zone" so it won't clog
WaterGuard Install
WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the wall to capture any of the floodwater and direct it towards the sump pump.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
TripleSafe is designed to handle the heavy amounts of flooding the homeowner was experiencing, with its three pumps.
IceGuard
IceGuard was installed to the discharge line to keep the system from backing up or from freezing due to cold weather.
