This homeowner in Essex, MD was experiencing leaks in their basement with an unknown source. They contacted Quality 1st Basements to inspect the area and our System Design Specialist, Jeff Yentzer suggested a full waterproofing of their basement. The team started out by putting down Drainage Matting and CleanSpace to provide a durable barrier that moisture couldn't get through. Then a SmartSump was installed to pump any water out of the basement. Finally, a vent cover was installed to keep outside air from affecting the environment in the basement. The homeowner could now relax knowing that their home was safeguarded from any future water damage.
Encapsulating the Basement
Because the homeowner was not sure where the leaks in their basement were coming from, we recommended full encapsulation. Here we put down drainage matting and covered the walls in the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
SmartSump Installation
For extra assurance, a SmartSump was installed to pump out any excess water in the basement.
Sealing off the Entryway
To keep the outside air from affecting the inside of the basement, we installed a vent cover to seal off this entryway.
