A homeowner in Spring Lake, New Jersey was looking to waterproof their basement. They contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Jay Alvarez, provided an inspection and suggested they install a French drain system and a new sump pump system. A wet basement can have many negative effects such as musty smells, increased energy bills, pests, and even mold growth. Our foreman, Esau Aquino, installed the WaterGuard Drain System which will collect water and drain it to the sump pump. This system sits on top of the foundation footing to keep it out of the mud zone. Next, the foreman installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System which will effectively drain water out of the basement. This system has an airtight enclosed lid to prevent the water vapor from escaping into the basement air. The foreman also installed the Trench Drain to prevent flooding. Now, the homeowner has a basement that is protected from heavy water intrusion.
