Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Maplewood, NJ
A homeowner in Maplewood, New Jersey was experiencing water getting into their basement. This can happen because there is poorly compacted soil around the foundation that becomes saturated during heavy rainfall. This saturated soil creates hydrostatic pressure and pushes water through the walls and the floor. This can have negative effects such as increased energy bills, musty smells, mold growth, and increased energy bills.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Travis Radford provided an inspection and suggested they install a sump pump, French drain system, and a discharge line. Our foreman, Mario Barron, installed the Super Sump Classic Pump System which will effectively pump water out of the basement. The super sump has an airtight enclosed lid that will not let moisture into the basement. It is capable of pumping out 2,220 gallons of water per hour and is the perfect solution for occasional water issues. Next, the foreman installed the WaterGuad Drain System which sits on top of the foundation footing to be kept out of the mud zone. This system will catch any water that seeps into the walls, and drain it to the sump pump. Lastly, the foreman installed the IceGuard Discharge Line which will let water drain out even if the pipes become blocked by ice or snow. It has openings that allow for water to escape without becoming clogged. Now, the homeowner has a healthy basement that will be protected from any water intrusion.
